The quiet spacious residential area is car free but with 10 minutes walk to the shopping heart of Leek. Around Leek are the beautiful nature reserves Nienoord and Leekstermeer. The village has a wide range of stores, two school communities, many sports facilities including both an outdoor and indoor swimming pool. The public bus service has an excellent connection with both Groningen and Drachten.
